It’s that time again where I review another herbal vaporizer and today I’ll be taking a look at the Storz And Bickel Mighty vaporizer.
So naturally being such a big fan of these other devices I just knew that I had to get my hands on a Mighty to see exactly how it compares to these other devices.
So stay tuned because today I’ll be letting you know all about the Mighty including what I liked and what I didn’t and I’ll also be doing a short ‘Crafty VS Mighty’ vaporizer comparison to let you know which of these two I ultimately prefer.
How Does It Compare To The Crafty?
If you saw my Crafty vaporizer review then you’ll know that I was SERIOUSLY impressed with this thing.
It’s a little bit more pricey than most of the other portable vaporizers that are out there but in terms of both build quality and vapor quality very few portables even come close to what the Crafty has to offer.
It’s kind of like getting the quality and vapor production of a desktop vape like their volcano or plenty vaporizers but in a device that’s portable and that can be taken with you on the go.
However the only area that I was really able to fault the Crafty on was it’s battery life. At just 45 minutes in total it definitely makes it one of the shorter battery lives that’s out there as far as portable vapes go.
But that’s where the Mighty comes in because it’s got exactly the same high quality build and design of the crafty but it comes with a waaaay longer battery life.
In fact with the Mighty your battery life will be around double that of the Crafty bringing it up to a total of around 90 minutes of battery time… which makes it one of the longest lasting portables on the market. I could imagine this thing would be absolutely perfect for camping, festivals and long trips away from home.
Furthermore like it’s younger brother the Crafty the Might also has an in built auto shut off feature which turns the vaporizer off when it’s not in use for over a minute. And although I can imagine a few people complaining about this being annoying the reality is that I’ve found this auto switch off feature to save me an insane amount of battery in the long run because I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve gotten distracted while vaping only to come back to it 10 minutes later having wasted not only a bunch of my battery life but also my herb.
If battery life and power efficiency is something that you’re big on then the Mighty really is at the forefront in this department.
The ‘Trade Off’ For A Longer Battery Life…
However there is obviously a price that you pay for this much longer battery life and that is you’ll have to deal with a much larger and heavier device.
Because whilst the crafty weighs in at just 135g and measures in at just 4.3 x 2.2 x 1.3 inches making it easily one of the lightest and most portable vaporizers on the market… the Mighty is much larger and heavier measuring in a 5.5 x 3.2 x 1.2 inches and weighing in at almost double that of the Crafty at 235 grams.
That being said though the Mighty still is small and light enough to fit inside of your pockets but if you’re also going to be carrying around a wallet, phone and whatever else you take around with you then it may be a bit much. In reality I think it’s probably more ideally suited for a carrying in a backpack or small compartment or something like that.
One of the other additional features that you get as a result of this extra size though is an digital LCD display screen along with ‘control’ buttons on the vaporizer itself that allow you to easily and quickly change your desired temperature up and down. These buttons feel extremely high quality and closely resemble those that you’d find on a Digital Volcano Vaporizer and I really love the simplicity of this setup – it’s literally just a power button and two buttons to turn your temperature up and down. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
The Crafty on the other hand doesn’t have this digital display feature so if you want to change the temperature you’ll need to download and use the phone app that comes with the device but with the Mighty you can do it all from the device itself.
I can see this as also being a big plus for those that either don’t have a smartphone or that simply don’t want to have to carry around a phone with their vape in order to change their temperature.
Using The Mighty…
In terms of using the Mighty though it works pretty much in the same way that we use the Crafty and it really couldn’t be more straight forward to use.
You simply just fill up the herb chamber either by hand or by using the including ‘herb packing’ tool, you switch on the device using the power button, you adjust your temperature as needed and then you just wait for the device to reach your desired temperature and hit it!
And just like the Crafty the Mighty will also let out two short but sharp vibrations once it’s reached your desired temperature which stops you from spacing out and forgetting about your vaporizer as it’s heating up helping you to save both battery life AND herb.
There really is a lot of beauty in the simplicity of these Storz and Bickel devices and the Mighty is no exception.
It’s stupidly easy to use and even the most beginner of vapers would have no trouble using it.
Vape Quality = Amaaaazing
Seriously. Just like the Crafty. This is one damn delicious tasting vape.
You wouldn’t think that a portable vaporizer that’s mostly made from plastic could taste this good and I honestly have no idea how they have managed to do it – but boy have they pulled it off with this one.
It’s just hands down one of the cleanest and smoothest tasting vapes that I’ve ever tried. It’s never burnt or yukky and the best thing about both the Mighty and the Crafty and in fact all vaporizers that are made by this brand is that you get this great flavor consistently and effortlessly.
Some vaporizers you may find require a lot of trial and error and testing and messing around with before you can really get a quality hit but for me part of the beauty of these products is that they are designed so well that there is basically no skill or technique required and that EVERY hit is good. Not just ever second or ever third. I’m talking EVERY single damn time.
And if vape quality is your main concern then even if you don’t get a Mighty then I highly recommend that you at least look into getting a vaporizer that’s might by this brand because they really are at the top of their game in this department.
Crafty VS Mighty: Which Is Better?
Personally I do feel like I still prefer the Crafty as I do find that the Mighty *is* a little too big for me to just comfortably carry it around in my pockets along with all the other shit that I have on me. If I was heading away and taking a backpack with me the Mighty might be more ideal but just for quick outings I’d definitely prefer the Crafty.
But that being said I can see the Mighty really appealing to those people who don’t care so much about the larger size or stealth factor and that just want a super long lasting vape that doesn’t sacrifice on vapor quality.
If you’re looking for a portable vaporizer that you can take out with you for a whole day hiking for example rather than something that will give you a few short sessions than the Mighty is probably more what you’re after.
The Verdict: Like A Crafty With A Supercharged Battery
I kind of think of the Mighty as a middle sibling between the Crafty and the Plenty.
It’s still light enough and portable enough to take with you on to go and to vape in places that you simply wouldn’t be able to do with the Plenty but it’s bigger than the Crafty and will last you a lot longer in that regards.
All in all though this is an extremely awesome vaporizer. It’s not cheap but if you ask me – it’s worth every cent.
And for that reason I’m going to give the Mighty a vape rating of 9/10.
